Bid Farewell to Colleagues

Typhoon survivors continue their mission in the Philippines

More than 200 Mormon missionaries serving in the Philippines Tacloban Mission were displaced by the 8 November 2013 Typhoon Haiyan. All of those missionaries, apart from some who have concluded their mission service, are now filling new assignments in one of 11 other missions in the islands.

On Saturday, 16 November, those missionaries departed from the missionary training center in Manila. Mormon Newsroom’s video news crew has captured in the video below missionaries and their leaders describing their experiences — from the impact of the typhoon and gathering in Manila to their bittersweet farewell as they look forward to resuming missionary service.
