The 2025 Church Music Festival, “Hail the Day That Sees Him Rise,” will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. (MST) at the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City.

No tickets are required to attend the concert. The songs will also be recorded for on-demand viewing and will be published later on the Church Music Festival archive page.

The festival is a celebration of music of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its focus is to highlight sacred music that inspires faith in Jesus Christ, teaches gospel doctrine, brings joy, offers comfort and fosters unity.

Performances include arrangements of old and new hymns and include contemplative moments as well as songs with high energy. A range of performers will participate, including the Church Music Festival Choir, a children’s choir, combined Institute Choirs from Logan, Salt Lake, and Orem, a jazz combo and brass ensemble. The Unity Gospel Choir, founded by Debra Bonner, will be a highlight as they perform “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and Emma Murdock will be featured singing her arrangement of “This Little Light of Mine.”

“One thing that is unique about these arrangements and covers of hymns and songs is that they showcase how members make them their own using their unique mix of skills, culture and stylistic approach,” said Katie Bastian, a music manager in the Church’s Priesthood and Family Department. “Bringing different things to the table can have a unifying effect on the audience — that is our hope.”

Half of the program features new songs and arrangements from the Annual Church Music Submission. Sheet music will eventually be published online at Music.ChurchofJesusChrist.org for use at home and church. Past Church music submission-awarded music can also be viewed here. Scroll down to the sections “submitted hymns,” “music for choir and voice,” “music for instruments,” and “music for children” to find music you can freely use at home and church.
