Church Leaders Honor Mothers Around the World

In honor of Mother’s Day celebrations around the world during May, several Apostles and General Officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are sharing social media messages celebrating women and their divine roles and contributions this weekend.

Church President Russell M. Nelson taught about the relationship between Jesus Christ and His mother, Mary.

He then wrote, "I am deeply grateful for the remarkable women in my life who have enriched and mothered me, my family, and countless others in life-changing ways. Every woman has within her the essence of motherhood. Every woman is in a position to help build and change lives. May you each know that our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son know you, see you, and love you. Happy Mother’s Day!"

President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, recounted the legacies of his mother, Mildred, and wife, Kathleen, before expressing “heartfelt gratitude to the mothers who love with Christlike charity, who strengthen faith, and who build the rising generation with hope and tenderness. You are the heart of the Lord’s work.”
