Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles encouraged young adults in Lima, Peru, to think about the future, make wise decisions, and recognize who they are as sons and daughters of God.
During a devotional on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stressed the importance of making sacrifices in the present to achieve eternal goals. He said Latter-day Saints should not fear those sacrifices when they bring them closer to what really matters.

The devotional is part of Elder Andersen’s ministering assignment to the Area. He was was accompanied to the devotional by his wife, Kathy; Elder S. Mark Palmer of the Presidency of the Seventy and his wife, Jacqueline, and members of the Church’s Northwest South America Area Presidency and their wives: President Jorge T. Becerra and his wife, Debbie; Elder Rafael E. Pino, First Counselor, and his wife, Patricia; and Elder Juan Pablo Villar, Second Counselor, and his wife, Carola.
Young adults heard inspiring messages from various participants focused on personal and spiritual development through setting and achieving goals, including one from Sister Kathy Andersen, who encouraged listeners to have the courage to live with faith and vision.
The Church of Jesus Christ actively supports young adults in their spiritual, professional and personal progress, helping them to make correct decisions and to prepare for a future with purpose and faith.
