Highlights of the 2025 BYU Women’s Conference

Thousands of women gathered on the campus of Brigham Young University and online April 30 through May 2, 2025, to hear messages from leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other instructors during the 2025 BYU Women’s Conference.

The 2025 theme was “Behold my Spirit is upon you ... and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me” (Moses 6:34).

Abide in and Walk With the Lord

Sister J. Anette Dennis, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, opened the conference with a keynote address on Wednesday evening, encouraging listeners to “abide in the Savior.” She taught that just as the Lord promised the prophet Enoch that He would abide in him if Enoch chose to walk with and abide in the Lord, God invites us to do the same.

“As you choose to abide in the Savior, He will abide in you, and you need never walk alone, no matter where you go or what you do in this life!” she said. “You do not need to fear the future, even marriage and parenthood, because the Savior will be with you.”

She invited listeners to study the five most recent general conference talks given by President Russell M. Nelson, and “look for all the promises, blessings, privileges, and power that are available to you through making and keeping covenants with God.”

  2. Spiritual Treasures
  3. Overcome the World and Find Rest
  4. The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation
  5. Rejoice in the Gift of Priesthood Keys

“A Prophet of God is telling us that there is no limit to the Savior’s capacity to help us,” Sister Dennis said. He’s telling us that the Lord can comfort us and strengthen us and bless us with peace even in the middle of the storms of life, even in the middle of chaos. But for the Savior to be able to do that, we need to choose to put our faith and trust in Him. We need to choose to walk with Jesus.”

Become Humble Followers of Christ

Primary General President Susan H. Porter spoke Thursday, May 1, on the importance of humility as Latter-day Saint women learn to follow and walk with the Savior.

“Humility touches hearts. Humility changes hearts. Humility opens our hearts to receive the Spirit of God,” she said. “Being humble fills us with the desire to leave behind old habits and choose to walk with the Savior. Our hearts open to receive His strength and His power to persevere and stay with Him through our hard battles of life.”

President Porter shared examples of humility she’s witnessed within her own family and as she’s traveled throughout the world, including a time she was briefly stranded alone on an airplane tarmac in Kyiv with nowhere to go and no one waiting to pick her up. “I put myself in the hands of God and pled with Him for help,” she said.

She testified, “As we continue walking in His way and seeking His help, we will be given vision and understanding to see that He has been and is walking with us, upholding and strengthening us by His righteous, omnipotent hand.

In conclusion, she said, “As we prepare for His Second Coming, I pray that we may focus on becoming ‘humble followers of Christ’ (Matthew 5:6). As we do so, we will receive His power to strengthen us in our weakness and enable us to walk forward with Him, becoming the women of God He knows we can be.”

“Our doctrine is clear; we are to be positive and of good cheer. We emphasize our faith, not our fears. We rejoice in the Lord’s assurance that He will stand by us and give us guidance and direction. We are safe when we walk with Jesus,” he said.

The Apostle reiterated his 2011 declaration that “[Latter-day Saint] women are incredible” … because of their commitment not only to have faith in Jesus Christ, but also to walk with Him.

About BYU Women’s Conference

BYU Women’s Conference is one of the largest gatherings of Latter-day Saint women in the world and has been bringing women together since 1976.

Each year the conference draws more than 12,000 attendees, featuring over 90 sessions led by 175 speakers. Since its beginning, more than 1 million service projects have been completed.

The event provides an opportunity to gather with other women of faith, develop friendships, learn from the speakers and participate in service, according to the website. Conference content is planned for women who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; however, those of all faiths are welcome to attend.

Traditionally co-sponsored by the Relief Society organization, BYU Women’s Conference is now a BYU program coordinated by Continuing Education, like BYU Education Week.
