Iam Tongi will be the headlining concert artist for the 2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult conference, happening August 14–15, 2026, according to the conference’s social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Tongi, the 21-year-old Hawaiian-born singer and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who won Season 21 of “American Idol,” believes music is not just about fun — although it definitely is that. It’s about transformation, according to the concert event page. “I know I’m supposed to be doing this, and sometimes that’s all I know,” he said. “This is what I was meant for.”

The YSA conference concert, happening on both Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, from 8–9:30 p.m., will open with special guest the King will come, a Billboard-charting collective of Kingdom-minded artists, songwriters and creatives united by a shared passion for spreading hope, love and unity.

Space is limited for each performance. Young adults are asked to choose the night they plan to attend during registration to reserve a spot.

Tongi previously performed during the Utah Area’s 2024 Young Single Adult Conference on August 3, 2024.

In an April 5, 2026, social post, Tongi sang “Oh Lord, My Redeemer,” and wrote, “The Lord has done so much for me and my family. I am so grateful for the gospel and the good it has done in my life. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us, I know that Christ is the only way, and if you put Him as the center for everything you do, you will prevail.”

With the theme “Together in Christ,” this year’s conference at the Salt Palace Convention Center will also include Christ-centered devotionals, interactive workshops, service projects and social events.

Utah young single adults ages 18–35 can register here for the mid-August conference, where they can “worship, learn from inspired leaders, serve and build meaningful connections centered on Jesus Christ.”
