On International Women’s Day 2019, a Message of Love From Africa

The leaders of Latter-day Saint women worldwide are commemorating International Women’s Day with a video greeting from Africa.

Sister Jean B. Bingham, Relief Society general president, and Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women general president, recorded a short video while visiting Accra, Ghana, in West Africa.

The video is posted on Sister Bingham’s Facebook page.

Sister Bingham extended the video greeting on behalf of the 7.2 million members of the Relief Society, one of the largest and oldest women’s organizations in the world.

“Love is a motivation for all we do as we work together in unity,” said Sister Cordon, as she and Sister Bingham stood with sister missionaries of the Accra Ghana Mission and other Latter-day Saint women outside a chapel.

These general officers of the Church are in West Africa through Sunday for outreach visits with government and community leaders and to meet with Latter-day Saints in Ghana, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
