The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the open house and dedication dates for the Torreón Mexico Temple and the groundbreaking date for the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple.

All rights reserved.The open house for the Torreón Mexico Temple will begin with a media day on Monday, October 19, 2026, followed by tours for invited guests on October 20 and 21. The public is invited to tour the temple from October 22 through November 7 (excluding Sundays).
Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on Sunday, November 22. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to congregations in the Torreón Mexico Temple district.
More than 1.5 million members of the Church live in Mexico, meeting in over 1,800 congregations.
This will be the fifteenth dedicated house of the Lord in the country, joining temples in Ciudad Juárez, Colonia Juárez Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Hermosillo Sonora, Mérida, Mexico City, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puebla, Tampico, Tijuana, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz and Villahermosa.
Twelve additional temples in Mexico have been announced or are under construction.
The Torreón Mexico Temple was announced in 2024.
Colorado Springs Colorado Temple

Hirst of the United States Central Area Presidency will preside at the event.
Dedicated temples in the state are the Denver Colorado Temple, Fort Collins Colorado Temple and Grand Junction Colorado Temple. The Colorado Springs Colorado Temple was announced in 2023.
Nearly 150,000 Latter-day Saints reside in Colorado, meeting in over 300 congregations.
President Dallin H. Oaks recently shared how, after the death of his father, his mother taught him to find hope through the covenants made with Jesus Christ in His holy temples.
“She taught us that we had a father and she had a husband and we would always be a family because of their temple marriage,” he said. “We are all grateful for temple marriage and for the prospective blessings of being sealed as an eternal family.”
Latter-day Saints worship in temples for several reasons: to feel God’s love and peace, to learn more about God’s plan for His children and the gospel of Jesus Christ, to make promises with God and with one’s husband or wife, and to participate in sacred ordinances that allow families to be united in this life and the next.
