Swaziland: Missionaries Brighten Up African Orphanage

Mormon missionaries serving in Swaziland in south Africa put a fresh coat of paint on a local orphanage.
Some of more than 70,000 children left orphaned from HIV/AIDS.
The Lobamba Neighborhood Care Point is one of several facilities caring for more than 70,000 children who have been orphaned from HIV/AIDS. Neighborhood Care Points have been established in Swaziland where children may come together and receive care and support, a meal for the day and some form of education. The Neighborhood Care Points are operated and funded by volunteers.

Pacific: Latter-day Saints Assist in Vanuatu

Heavy rainfall for three weeks in April destroyed residents’ crops in the remote Vanuatu village of Tisman (about 1,000 miles east of northern Australia). “Everything I have tried to harvest is rotten,” one villager said.
Mormons and other volunteers carry food to Tisman village, Vanuatu, after heavy rain destroyed the village's crops in April 2013.
Responding to the need for assistance, Mormon Helping Hands volunteers and others carried food to the people, traversing a river to do it.
