Cambodia: Mormons and Jesuits Partner to Provide Wheelchairs
LDS Charities and the Jesuits of the Banteay Prieb Training and Rehabilitation Center in Cambodia are helping many to become self-reliant.
The facility exists to help people recovering from a disabling injury receive training to prepare them to work. They build wheelchairs at the center, and LDS Charities partners in purchasing the wheelchairs and distributing them to the needy.

Malaysia: Mormon Helping Hands Aid Flood Victims
Northeast Malaysia was hit in December with devastating rainstorms forcing nearly 140,000 people from their homes.
Latter-day Saints responded by assembling hygiene and food kits; in less than three hours, the supplies were ready for delivery to the Red Cross for the thousands in need.

Ghana: Church Involved in Immunizing Against Polio
The Church partnered with "Kick Polio Out of Ghana; Vaccinate Your Child" to reach millions of children with the oral polio vaccine.
The immunizations targeted 18 countries in western and central Africa, and the Church helped initiate and fund the public awareness campaign.

Malaysia: LDS Charities Help Improve Bathroom Facilities for Children
Students’ restroom facilities in three Malaysian schools received a major makeover during the Christmas holidays.
When the 1,500 children returned to school in mid-January, they saw new sinks, faucets, wall and floor tiles and toilets. Ceilings were repaired and painted, and a new pressure system was installed to improve the water pressure in the facilities.

Nicaragua: Church Family Values Award Given to Government Official
The minister of Nicaragua’s family, youth and children received The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Family Values Award for 2014.
Marcia Ramírez Mercado was recognized for her work and received a statuette representing the family. The award is given by the Church to community leaders who uphold the family as the basis of society and who are not Latter-day Saints.
