New Primary and Relief Society General Presidencies Begin Service

The new Primary general presidency and Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin their service, effective August 1, 2022. The calls were announced during general conference in April.

Relief Society

President Camille N. Johnson will serve as the 18th president of the Relief Society after serving as Primary general president since April 2021.

Sister J. Anette Dennis is the first counselor in the Relief Society general presidency. Sister Kristin M. Yee is serving as second counselor. Both counselors had been serving on the Primary general advisory council.

The Relief Society is one of the largest women’s organizations in the world. Under the direction of the First Presidency, the Relief Society general presidency oversees the activities of all Latter-day Saint women ages 18 and over in more than 31,000 congregations globally. The leaders travel frequently around the world to help guide and support the women of the Church.

President Susan H. Porter oversees the children of the Church of Jesus Christ as the new Primary general president. She was previously a counselor in the organization. Sister Amy Wright was sustained as the first counselor after serving as second counselor in the Primary general presidency. The new second counselor is Sister Tracy Y. Browning, who was serving on the Relief Society general advisory council.

The leaders launched social media pages on Facebook and Instagram to share uplifting messages of hope and inspiration.

No changes were made in the Young Women General Presidency during the April general conference.
