New Stakes and Reorganized Stake Presidencies Announced in August 2026

Note: A stake is a collection of several congregations. A stake president holds the priesthood keys (spiritual authority) to lead the work of the Church in a specific geographical area. He and his two counselors form a stake presidency. They care for stake members with love, helping them become true followers of Jesus Christ.

Following is a list of newly created stakes and stake presidencies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from around the world. Lists are compiled and published at the end of each month. The actual date of a stake’s creation or reorganization is in parentheses, following the name of the stake.

New Stakes

A new stake has been created from the Ammon Idaho East, Ammon Idaho North and Ammon Idaho stakes. The Ammon Idaho Centennial Ranch Stake, which consists of the Ammon 14th, Ammon 16th, Ammon 18th, Ammon 20th, Black Canyon, Stone Arbor, Thunder Ridge 1st and Thunder Ridge 2nd wards, was organized by Elder Ronald M. Barcellos, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Stephen J. Larson, an Area Seventy.

AMMON IDAHO CENTENNIAL RANCH STAKE: (May 17, 2026) President — Isac Phil Simpson, 44, physician; wife, Jennifer Schiess Simpson. Counselors — Chad Adelbert Webster, 49, Idaho Fresh Produce Inc. owner; wife, Kami Elaine Larsen Webster. Steven Stanley Boyle, 43, dentist; wife, Nicole Lynn Egbert Boyle.

A new stake has been created from the Bouafle Cote d’Ivoire District. The Bouafle Cote d’Ivoire Stake, which consists of the Bonon, Sinfra 1st and Sinfra 2nd branches and the Agbanou, Bayota, Bouafle, Dehita and Koko wards, was organized by Elder Alfred Kyungu, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Sylvain G. Onagnelin, an Area Seventy.

BOUAFLE COTE D’IVOIRE STAKE: (May 24, 2026) President — N’guessan Marcelin Koffi, 31, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission office handyman; wife, Boudou Marina Takoue Koffi. A new stake has been created from the Evansville Indiana, Hopkinsville Kentucky and Madison Tennessee stakes. The Bowling Green Kentucky Stake, which consists of the Bowling Green 3rd (Spanish), Bowling Green YSA, Franklin, Russellville and Scottsville branches and the Bowling Green 1st, Bowling Green 2nd, Greenville and Morgantown wards, was organized by Elder Massimo De Feo, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder R. Wade Litchfield, an Area Seventy.

BOWLING GREEN KENTUCKY STAKE: (June 14, 2026) President — Kenneth Edward McCarraher, 42, Deaconess Health System regional director of specialty care; wife, Skylar Leanne Steele McCarraher. A new stake has been created from the Kitwe Zambia District. The Copperbelt Zambia Stake, which consists of the Bulangililo, Chifubu, Kawama 1st, Kawama 2nd, Kitwe, Ndeke and Roan branches and the Luanshya, Masala, Ndola and Twapia wards, was organized by Elder Vaiangina (Vai) Sikahema, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Ngqabutho F. Moyo, an Area Seventy.

COPPERBELT ZAMBIA STAKE: (April 26, 2026) President — Edson Silindu Sikanyika, 47, Kolob General Dealers director; wife, Mutinta Sikanyika. A new stake has been created from the Raleigh North Carolina South, Raleigh North Carolina and Wake Forest North Carolina stakes. The Raleigh North Carolina East Stake, which consists of the Garner 2nd (Spanish), Knightdale 2nd (Spanish), Lake Benson YSA and Millbrook (Spanish) branches and the Archer Lodge, Garner 1st, Knightdale 1st, Lake Wheeler and Raleigh 2nd wards, was organized by Elder Sergio R. Vargas, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Christopher B. Bingham, an Area Seventy.

RALEIGH NORTH CAROLINA EAST STAKE: (May 31, 2026) President — Robert Joaquin Foster, 50, Legacy Eye Care optometrist and CEO; wife, Carleen Davis Foster. A new stake has been created from the Santa Rosa de Copan Honduras District. The Santa Rosa de Copan Honduras Stake, which consists of the Copan Ruinas, Florida, Gracias, Nueva Ocotepeque and San Marcos de Ocotepeque branches and the Dolores, El Dorado, La Entrada, Miraflores and Santa Rosa wards, was organized by Elder Patricio M. Giuffra, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Cesar A. Morales, an Area Seventy.

Christensen, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Quinn S. Millington, an Area Seventy.
