After the announcement of the “Rejoice in Christ” theme and once reservations became available online, the first wave of free reservations for the Salt Lake Temple open house tour was claimed in less than 24 hours by people around the world.
Given the anticipated worldwide demand for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, tickets were scheduled to be released in batches in the lead-up to 2027. In the coming weeks and months, additional tickets will be made available, providing more opportunities for individuals, families and groups to plan their visits.
Details about upcoming ticket releases will be shared through TempleSquare.org, the Temple Square app (available for Apple and Android users), the Temple Square email list, and official social media channels.
During the media event announcing the “Rejoice in Christ” theme and the availability of tickets, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles commented, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a global church with a universal message of Jesus Christ in which we rejoice. We’re so grateful that we’re here in a community where we’re welcome. We invite you to come and see and love Jesus Christ and the people who come here.”
Visitors are encouraged to continue checking these channels for updates. Many other Salt Lake Temple Celebration experiences throughout Temple Square will not require reservations.
The Salt Lake Temple Celebration will run from April 5 through October 1, 2027, and will include the open house tour, exhibits, performances, service opportunities and other experiences centered on Jesus Christ.
