President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrated his 94th birthday on August 12, 2026.
President Oaks marked the occasion with family in Utah on the evening of Monday, August 10. This is his first birthday since becoming the Church’s 18th President.
Church social channels shared photos and messages commemorating President Oaks’ birthday and highlighting his invitations to be a peacemaker and follow Jesus Christ.
President Oaks has served as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 1984 and was sustained as First Counselor in the First Presidency in 2018. He became President of the Church in October 2025.
In recent messages, President Oaks has encouraged individuals and families to choose peace and avoid contention. During the April 2026 general conference, he taught: “As followers of Christ, let us follow Him by forgoing contention and by using the language and methods of peacemakers.”
