Temples around the world are opening their doors to members, friends and neighbors, including the recent dedication of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple and the open house of the Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple.
Another milestone in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ effort to increase access to temples will occur on September 1, 2026, when reservations for tours of the renovated Salt Lake Temple become available.

The Salt Lake Temple Celebration, scheduled for April 5 through October 1, 2027, will invite visitors from around the world to experience the renovated Salt Lake Temple either in person or through online virtual experiences. Guests can also participate in exhibits, performances and activities throughout Temple Square as part of the six-month celebration.
How to Get Tickets
- Beginning September 1 at 11 a.m. MDT, guests may reserve tickets for the Salt Lake Temple open house tours through TempleSquare.org and the Temple Square app (available for Apple and Android users).
- To accommodate as many visitors as possible, individual guests may reserve up to 6 tickets. Those seeking tickets for larger parties, including family reunions, Church groups or community organizations, can submit a reservation request.
Tour times are scheduled from 8:40 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays throughout the six-month celebration. Accessibility accommodations will be provided, including language support, assistive listening options and services for guests with mobility, vision, hearing and other needs.
If guests are unable to secure tickets for their preferred date or time, more tickets will become available through future releases.
Reservations are recommended for the open house tours but are not required for the broader Salt Lake Temple Celebration. Individual guests may participate in many activities and experiences on Temple Square without a reservation.

The Salt Lake Temple Celebration will mark the reopening of the Church’s flagship temple and invite millions of guests to experience the renewed building and learn more about the purpose of temples. Unlike Church meetinghouses, which are used for Sunday worship services, temples are the most sacred places of worship for Latter-day Saints. As houses of the Lord, they are places where Church members make promises with God and participate in ordinances that draw them closer to Jesus Christ and their families.
The Salt Lake Temple Celebration invites people everywhere to rejoice in Jesus Christ and learn more about the purpose of temples, either through experiences on Temple Square or through virtual opportunities available worldwide.
