Open House and Dedication Dates Announced for the Star Valley Wyoming and Hartford Connecticut Temples

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the open house, cultural celebration and dedication dates for the Star Valley Wyoming and Hartford Connecticut Temples.

Star Valley Wyoming Temple

The free public open house for the Star Valley Wyoming Temple will begin Friday, September 23, and run every day through Saturday, October 8, 2016, except for the evening of September 24, September 25 and October 1 and 2, 2016. A cultural celebration will be held Saturday, October 29, and the temple will be dedicated Sunday, October 30, in three sessions.

Dedication services will be broadcast at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to meetinghouses in all Church stakes and districts in the Star Valley Wyoming Temple district as well as all other stakes and districts in Wyoming, with the exception of those in the Fort Collins Colorado Temple district. The three-hour block of meetings on the 30th will be canceled so that Latter-day Saints can participate in the sessions.

The temple is located east of U.S. Highway 89 on the Haderlie Farm property south of Afton.

Hartford Connecticut Temple

The free public open house for the Hartford Connecticut Temple will begin Friday, September 30, and run through Saturday, October 22, 2016, except for October 1, 2, 9 and 16, 2016. A cultural celebration will be held Saturday, November 19, and the temple will be dedicated Sunday, November 20.

The 9:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 3:00 p.m. dedicatory sessions on Sunday, November 20, 2016, will be broadcast to all the stakes and districts in Connecticut and the Hartford Connecticut Temple district. To enable members to participate in the temple dedication and to place appropriate focus on this sacred event, the three-hour block meetings will be canceled that day for these congregations.

The temple is located on the corner of Farmington Avenue and Melrose Drive in Farmington.

There are currently 150 temples operating throughout the world; 23 temples have been announced or are under construction, and four are being renovated.
