The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting its annual celebration of Latin American culture on Saturday, November 5.
After a two-year hiatus due to pandemic measures, the event is returning to the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City. (Virtual events were held in 2020 and 2021.)
“We are grateful to welcome our Hispanic members and other friends in the community to join with us in celebrating the beautiful culture we share as neighbors,” said Federico M. Kähnlein, Area Seventy. “We are very excited to have the opportunity to gather once again in person at the Conference Center. We encourage all who live along the Wasatch Front to join us on a special and unforgettable night as we rejoice together in the gospel.”
The 2022 theme for ‘Luz de las Naciones’ is ‘Juntos es Mejor’ (Better Together). More than 500 musical artists will fill the stage with songs and 11 dance performances from several Latin American countries including the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, and Cuba. Performers represent several countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Peru.
Download Photo“We bring that Latino feeling to feeling [God’s love] and it’s just a really enjoyable event,” said 17-year-old cast member Tonali Bruno. “Being able to dance the dances that bring me back to my Mexican roots is something that is really special because you don’t get it every day.”
Elder Ulisses Soares, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will also participate in the event.

Tickets are available starting October 12 at 10 a.m. MST. They are free of charge and can be reserved online at luzdelasnaciones.org or here.*
Due to construction projects on Temple Square carpooling and public transportation are strongly encouraged. Parking is limited and in-person attendance will be restricted to those with a ticket. Every event ticket will include a free public transportation pass to downtown Salt Lake City through UTA.
The ‘Luz de las Naciones’ celebration will also be released for on-demand viewing on November 19.
