20 Easy Ways to ‘Love, Share, Invite’ Your Neighbors

Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with other people doesn’t have to begin with a doctrinal discussion or visit with the missionaries. In fact, Church leaders encourage all Latter-day Saints to invite others “to come and see, come and help, and come and belong” in “normal and natural ways” (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “God Will Do Something Unimaginable,” Oct. 2020 general conference).

Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints taught these principles in a recent global broadcast on sharing the gospel that congregations worldwide discussed during fifth Sunday meetings in July.

“We must act. We must love, share and invite,” said President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, during the broadcast. “He will prompt us to share our experience, activities and what we are doing. And He will inspire us to invite others to come and see, to come and help, and to come and belong.”

Here are 20 easy ways to “love, share and invite” your neighbors:

  1. Prayerfully seek guidance and inspiration for ways you can love friends, neighbors, family members and other acquaintances. Serve and pray for them often. Be aware of hardships that may open their hearts to God’s love and an invitation to increase their faith.
  1. Show your love for others in the community by visiting JustServe.org and participating in service opportunities that help you serve and interact with others of all faiths.

  2. Visit Share.ChurchofjesusChrist.org and subscribe to emails that list opportunities for service and give ideas for sharing the gospel.

  3. Share the Book of Mormon with an old or new friend, right from the Book of Mormon app on your mobile device. It is available in 100-plus languages and includes videos and other explanatory content.
