Throughout the upcoming year, Latter-day Saint youth worldwide will be reminded of their role in what President Russell M. Nelson referred to as “the greatest work” on earth (see “Hope of Israel,” Worldwide Youth Devotional, June 3, 2018).

A letter from Young Women and Young Men general presidencies announced that the 2021 Youth Theme is “Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33-34; emphasis added).

The theme was selected in response to the prophet’s invitation to “enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord to help gather Israel” (“Hope of Israeland in coordination with the 2021 course of study for seminary and Come, Follow Me.

The letter encourages parents and youth leaders to teach principles from the theme scripture at home and at church throughout the year. The theme can be used as a topic for youth sacrament meeting talks and to provide focus for youth activities, including camps, youth conferences and devotionals. The theme also will be emphasized during FSY conferences worldwide.

Resources — including music, videos and art — will be available in the coming months on ChurchofJesusChrist.org/youth, social media channels, and in the new For the Strength of Youth magazine.
