Boise Idaho Temple

Plans to construct the temple were announced 31 March 1982, Church leaders broke ground 18 December 1982, and President Gordon B. Hinckley, then a counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Boise Idaho Temple 25-30 May 1984. The temple closed in July 2011 for extensive renovation. Church president Thomas S. Monson rededicated it 18 November 2012. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in western Idaho and eastern Oregon.
The 35,868-square-foot temple is currently under renovation.
Currently, there are over 50 temples in various stages of construction, renovation or have been announced throughout the world.
