Celebrate Easter With Streamed Concert, New Videos

A new Easter concert produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints premieres on the Church’s YouTube inspirational channel on March 26, 2023, and will be available until mid-April. The program titled “The Redeemer” celebrates the life and ministry of the Savior Jesus Christ through sacred music and inspired artwork.

The narrated concert was produced in Europe. The production celebrates events in the Savior’s life that occurred more than 2,000 years ago, including Palm Sunday, His entrance into Jerusalem, His atoning sacrifice in Gethsemane and His Crucifixion and His Resurrection.

“I truly feel honored to have been a part of this production, presenting reverential artwork that reminds us of what our Lord and Savior means to us and help[s] draw our focus to His healing power,” said Swedish narrator Louis Herrey.

The music, composed and arranged by Kurt Bestor, features Jenny Oaks Baker, Hannah Baker and Sarah Baker with the Lyceum Philharmonic and Heritage Youth Chorus at American Heritage School.

“I am so grateful to be able to perform this inspired music, composed and arranged by Kurt Bestor, as a soundtrack to scenes depicting the Savior's life,” said Jenny Oaks Baker.” I hope that this production enables everyone to feel the Spirit and brings them closer to Jesus Christ.”

The concert was filmed in Goshen, Utah, on the same set as the Church’s Bible videos.

New Easter Videos

Meanwhile, a new video released this month on the Church’s Come Unto Christ YouTube channel shares a message of hope and encouragement for this Easter season. The video, titled “Rise,” shows people in various challenging circumstances, including grieving the loss of a loved one and battling addiction, despair and self-doubt. It ends with the empty tomb.

“Jesus rose from the dead, because of Him, you can rise above anything,” the narration states.

A second video focuses on the scripture John 3:17, found in the New Testament.

The video can also be found on the Come Unto Christ Facebook and Instagram pages.
