Church Historian Honors First Pacific Mormons

Elder Marlin K. Jensen (center) and party depart Tubuai.

Elder Marlin K. Jensen, historian of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with other leaders, visited the Tubuai Latter-day Saints on the French Polynesian island over the weekend. During their visit, Elder Jensen rededicated the Church's Mahu Chapel after recent significant additions to the building, which is located on an original Tubuai meetinghouse site. "Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the French Polynesian island of Tubuai are a living legacy of the Pacific's first Mormons," said Elder Jensen.
