Church Holds First Online News Conference

Religion writers from around the United States called in or e-mailed questions to Church representatives today in the Church's first online news conference.

The conference was a pilot to establish whether Internet technology would allow a news conference to run smoothly, given the delay between the time the questions are asked and when the questioner receives the answer on his or her computer.

Only religion writers were invited to participate, but the Church expects to hold similar online conferences in the future, including some with senior Church leaders.

During the news conference, reference was made to a series of unscripted video interviews with Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles. The video clips are now available on Newsroom.
