Church looks at future needs of tsunami victims

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has already provided emergency supplies in southern Asia for short-term relief, is now evaluating how to help tsunami victims rebuild their lives and communities in the months and years to come. Church representatives are working closely with government officials in the affected countries assessing how the Church should best direct its humanitarian resources. Possible opportunities include providing potable water supplies, supporting schools and orphanages or providing continued medical care.

The Church is grateful for the generosity of those who have donated so substantially to disaster efforts. One hundred percent of all contributions will be sent to those in need. Members and friends of the Church may continue to make donations online at www.lds.org/humanitarian or by mailing them to: Humanitarian Aid Fund, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 East North Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84150 (or call 801-240-3544).
