The first truckloads of food donations from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to 250 food banks across all 50 United States have been delivered, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. A send-off was held for the first five semitrucks loaded with shelf-stable food at the Bishops’ Central Storehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The Church of Jesus Christ is collaborating with America250 to recognize the freedoms established by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
In Michigan, FISH of Grand Blanc received one of the first deliveries on Wednesday, November 19. A news conference was held the following day at the warehouse to distribute food to families in need living in the Grand Blanc community.

Grand Blanc was chosen as one of five cities to lead the initiative in recognition of the community’s remarkable support after the September 28 tragedy at the local Church meetinghouse. Church leaders highlighted the compassion shown by neighbors, first responders and interfaith collaborators throughout Oakland and Genesee counties.
“The people of Grand Blanc and the surrounding communities have shown what it means to come together and help others,” said Marcelino Sanchez, Grand Blanc Michigan Stake President. “This delivery is a small way to say thank you, help our neighbors in need and give back to this wonderful community.”
The truck, wrapped in the JustServe.org and America250 logos, delivered 40,000 pounds of food donated by the Church, including canned fruits, vegetables, and meats; pasta; flour; pancake mix; and dried milk. Most of the goods are produced by the Church and funded by member donations.
The other organizations receiving the first truckloads of food include Food for Lane County in Eugene, Oregon; Family Resource Services in Lonoke, Arkansas; The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri in Columbia, Missouri; and Galveston County Food Bank in Texas City, Texas.
