PAPEETE, Tahiti — The Papeete Tahiti Temple was rededicated last week by Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Approximately 10,000 Latter-day Saints gathered on 12 November to participate in the rededication. The temple was originally dedicated in 1983 and has been closed for the past 15 months for renovations.
One of four temples in the Pacific Islands, the rededicated temple will serve approximately 21,000 Latter-day Saints in French Polynesia.
The new temple is the 124th operating temple internationally, with 10 more under construction.
