New Video Explains the Book of Mormon

Three college students released a video introducing the Book of Mormon as part of a larger effort to share the book’s message. The five-minute piece discusses how, like the Bible, the Book of Mormon was written by prophets to teach about Jesus Christ.

The video explains that the Book of Mormon documents Christ’s ancient visit and ministry in the Americas and states that while other scriptures take place in Jerusalem, “seeing the Book of Mormon coming from America shows that God is the God of everywhere.”

Starting the New Year With Church and Fasting

Latter-day Saints set apart one Sunday each month for fasting as a way to become closer to God. At the beginning of each month, members are asked to go without food and drink for two consecutive meals or approximately 24 hours. Members from around the world started the new year off attending “fast Sunday” church services and contributing the money they would have used on meals to those in need.

"I would like to share my testimony since its Fast Sunday! I know that my Savior lives, He came to pay the debt that we could not pay. I'm grateful to become more like my Savior and Heavenly Father! I know that trials come in our way, but they helps us grow our personal testimonies! I know that my Heavenly Father answers my prayers. These words to the Hymn 'I Need Thee Every Hour' give my great comfort, "I need thee ev'ry hour; stay thou near-by. Temptations lose their pow'r, when thou art nigh. I need thee, of I need thee; Ev'ry hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee." I know that our Father loves us so much! #mormon#lds #testimony #JesusChrist #Faith" @latterdayyouth

Many also shared their testimony of Christ during Sunday’s services as they worshipped with family and friends.
