Christmas eve falls on a Sunday this year, and according to the First Presidency, Latter-day Saints worldwide need only attend sacrament meeting that day.

An official letter dated October 11 to ward and stake leaders states “Church services and
administrative and council meetings on that day should be limited to sacrament meeting in each ward and branch.”

The letter also states that stake and district presidents may consult with bishops and branch presidents to adjust meeting times on December 24 to best accommodate local needs.

The letter was signed by Church President Russell M. Nelson, President Dallin H. Oaks, First Counselor, and President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor.
