FSY Registration for U.S., Canada Opens; YSA Counselors Needed

Registration for For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences taking place in the United States and Canada during the summer of 2023 opens Thursday, January 24, on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Youth ages 14-18 who are not graduating in 2023 (and who are no younger than 14 and no older than 18 by December 31, 2023) can register first. Registration will open for youth graduating in 2023 (must be no older than 18 by the last day of the selected session) will open later.

Stakes are invited to attend an FSY conference every other year (find your stake’s date here).

What Is FSY?

An FSY conference includes devotionals, classes and activities that Latter-day Saint youth attend over five days. Attendees get to associate with peers who share their beliefs as they strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ, learn to apply the gospel in their life, and learn how to obtain revelation — all while having fun. Modeled after Brigham Young University’s Especially for Youth program, FSY has been held internationally for more than 15 years.

Youth are mentored by young single adult (YSA) counselors who act as righteous examples, teach youth about living the gospel, and supervise fun activities that increase confidence and self-esteem.

FSY Registration Timeline

The following is a general timeline of FSY registration dates, according to the Church’s FSY website.

It is anticipated that there will be space for all invited youth to attend a session within their geographic area.

During the registration period on January 24–26, youth may be placed in a waiting queue during periods of heavy web traffic before they can complete their registration. The waiting time may be up to several hours.

Most youth can wait to register until a week or two after registration has opened, when there will be less website traffic and shorter wait times. For youth who have only one session that will work for their summer schedule, they are encouraged to register the day registration opens for their stake.
