The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced admission, transportation and parking arrangements for the 172nd Semiannual General Conference to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 5 and 6 October.
Admission
All
tickets, standby tickets and parking permits for the five
conference sessions have been distributed through local Church
leaders. Church members interested in attending the conference
should contact their local leaders.
Conference Center doors will open 90 minutes prior to each session. Only persons 8 years of age and older will be admitted. Ticket holders must be in their seats at least 30 minutes before the meeting starts. At that time, standby ticket holders in waiting lines will be admitted until all seats are full.
Cameras, recording devices, backpacks, food and packages are not allowed in the building. Photography is not allowed during the meetings (except by credentialed news media).
Broadcast
All general sessions will also be
carried live on KSL-TV, KBYU-TV and on BYUTV (DirecTV channel 374
and DISH Network channel 9403). General sessions can also be seen
on a tape-delayed basis on KBYU-TV. In addition, all general
sessions will be transmitted via satellite to approximately 1,500
cable television systems plus television and radio stations in the
United States and Canada on a public-service basis.
Conference sessions will be interpreted live into 55 languages and transmitted via satellite to many parts of the world. This will be the first general conference received in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Romania, Armenia, Russia and Ukraine.
Transportation
Those attending conference are asked to
carpool or use public transportation to relieve downtown traffic
congestion. Participants traveling from the north are encouraged to
use the 600 North offramp to access 300 West.
Parking
Downtown parking lots will be available
Saturday and Sunday morning starting at 7:30 a.m.
Parking lot entrances:
All parking lots are within short walking distance of the Conference Center. Church leaders ask that those attending conference sessions not park in residential areas. Cars parked on neighborhood streets may be ticketed and towed at owner?s expense. Please avoid parking in front of homes in downtown residential areas.
