Four More Chapters of the General Handbook Are Available in Many Languages

Additional portions of chapter 38 have also been translated

Four additional chapters and portions of a fifth chapter of the General Handbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are now available in more than two dozen languages. These are translations of content that was first published in English in 2020.

Since the first release of General Handbook chapters in February 2020, nearly 60% of the handbook has been reworked in English. This new content is being published in other languages as quickly as possible (see language updates from October and November 2020). The remainder of the handbook will be revised in English this year.

The General Handbook replaces Handbook 1 (for stake presidents and bishops) and Handbook 2 (for all leaders).

Lists of the translated chapters and languages are below.

Translated Chapters

  • Chapter 8: Elders Quorum
  • Chapter 9: Relief Society
  • Chapter 13: Sunday School
  • Chapter 17: Teaching the Gospel
  • Chapter 38: Church Policies and Guidelines (only the sections updated in English in early 2020)
