As the Deseret News reported Friday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ “I’m a Mormon” media initiative in the UK and Ireland is helping to dispel myths about the Church and prompting increased missionary activity.
"I'm a Mormon" ads were displayed in London's Charing Cross Station in April 2013.
Greg Droubay, director of media for the Church’s Missionary Department, tells the Deseret News that since the campaign began in April, “visitors to the mormon.org.uk site have increased 250 percent. Similar increases are found in visitors requesting a copy of the Book of Mormon or a missionary visit.”
The article notes that “the campaign urges viewers to ‘ask a Mormon’ instead of believing things they may have heard from poorly informed sources ... It is built on the premise that the best way to know and understand The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to get to know its people.”
