Following recent adjustments to age ranges for young single adults and single adults, institute — which offers religious education, gathering places and community for young adults — is welcoming members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aged 31-35 to “participate, belong and contribute” in a significant way.

It is intended that this new audience will lend their “faith and voice” in developing “institute experiences that will have a meaningful impact on their generation” (see Guide for Institute Changes p. 6).

Classes and activities will be offered in two age ranges, 18-25 and 26-35, unless it is not feasible to do so. Those in these age ranges will have the chance to play a vital role in “building something new and meaningful with exciting opportunities, tailored experiences and Christ-centered courses.”

President Russell M. Nelson recently invited young adults to participate in Institute, promising it would help them “learn how to let God prevail,” “stay on the covenant path” and “feel more joy.”

According to the myInstitute website, institute provides a place for young adults to come together, find community and build faith in Jesus Christ. The program strives to “tailor classes, workshops and other activities to your unique experience and show how the restored gospel can be meaningful and useful in your life.”

President Jeffrey R. Holland, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, affirmed the blessings of institute in a 2021 devotional to young adults in Europe and Africa.

“You don’t exist so institute can become a successful Church program,” he said. “No, it’s the other way around. Institute exists so you can become a successful Latter-day Saint” (“The Institute Journey: To Take or Be Taken?”).
