RootsTech 2024, a global gathering of family history enthusiasts, will be in person at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City and virtually at rootstech.org. The three-day gathering (February 29 through March 2, 2024) will feature several keynotes.
Thursday, February 29: Henry Cho
Known as “Mr. Clean” within the comedic stand-up industry, Cho has gained a reputation to make audiences roll with laughter without compromising his desire to only use wholesome comedy. Born to Korean parents and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Cho draws upon the memories of his life and upbringing to spread joy to his large audiences. Cho brings a wealth of laughter and a rich tapestry of life experiences to the main stage.
Friday, March 1: Lynne M. Jackson
Jackson is the great-great-granddaughter of Dred and Harriet Scott, an enslaved couple well known for taking their case for freedom to the U.S. Supreme Court. The theme for RootsTech 2024 is “Remember,” a fitting framework for Jackson’s keynote address. She created the foundation to “promote the commemoration, education and reconciliation of our histories ... and ensure that we never forget the struggle for freedom, citizenship and equality, with an eye towards helping to heal the wounds of the past.”
Saturday, March 2: Kristin Chenoweth
Emmy® and Tony® Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will share her personal family story with RootsTech’s global audience and showcase her renowned voice as she performs a curated selection of songs.
Chenoweth sang with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square at its 2018 Christmas concert.
World-renowned Sony Artisan Photographer Nancy Borowick
Nancy Borowick is an accomplished photographer, author, teacher, speaker and more. She graduated from the International Center of Photography and has had her personal work exhibited in more than 100 cities worldwide. She has a gift for telling intimate, personal stories of people and places around the world, which has won her many renowned accolades, including Pictures of the Year International and the 2018 Humanitarian Award from Women That Soar.
