A Latter-day Saint serving in the United States Air Force will be honored with a notable award later this year.

Major Logan Daniels, an attorney for the U.S. Air Force and executive officer for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate with the U.S. Department of Defense, will be one of this year’s 13 recipients of the Arthur S. Flemming Awards in Washington, D.C., on November 1.

The recognition is given by George Washington University to recognize federal employees for performing outstanding service in the fields of applied science and engineering, basic science, leadership and management, legal achievement and social science.

Daniels’ award is in the legal achievement category for demonstrating leadership and legal expertise on various projects and assignments, a news release said.

He joins a list of notable Flemming Award recipients, including Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Paul Volcker Jr., John Chancellor, Neil Armstrong, Mary Elizabeth Hanford Dole, Robert Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci and William Phillips.

Daniels is stationed in Germany, where he serves as first counselor in the Ramstein 1st Ward of the Kaiserslautern Germany Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Cami, are the parents of four children.

Daniels was raised in Pleasanton, California, before receiving his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah.

Before becoming an attorney, Daniels was a producer and reporter for KSL NewsRadio.
