Leaders Celebrate Mother’s Day with a Mother’s Wisdom More Helpful Than Google

Mother’s Day is celebrated today in many countries around the world and Church President Russell M. Nelson, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf and Elder Ronald A. Rasband along with Church organization leaders Jean B. Bingham, Bonnie H. Cordon, Michelle D. Craig and Amy Wright share messages of gratitude, honor and love for all women through their social media accounts.

The leaders emphasize the many gifts and talents that women have that influence future generations. They highlight the many unique parts women play in our lives as “beloved neighbors, aunts, primary teachers, grandparents, educators, ward members and friends,” noting the challenges that often accompany their divine role.

"All those years ago, I didn’t have Google as a brand-new mom, but I don’t think it would have mattered. Google doesn’t know, but Mom does." says Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women general president.

On his Instagram account Church President Russell M. Nelson said, "I pay tribute to the life-sustaining influence of all of God’s daughters. Our Heavenly Father loves you for your sheer courage and for the unequaled influence you have in this world of ours."

A video posted on the Church's Facebook Inspiration group also shared teachings from President Nelson, including the message, "We know that the culminating act of all creation was the creation of woman."

In Facebook post, Sister Jean B. Bingham, general president of the Relief Society, asks the question, "As you reflect on the women who have “mothered” you along the way, what gifts are you grateful they have given to you?"
