The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sends young men and women as well as couples out into the world to teach and serve others.
They, like the apostles of old, are sent two by two to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, but that is not all missionaries do. They seek opportunities to help those in need. And currently there continues to be a great need in Japan.
That nation is still cleaning up after the March earthquake and tsunami with the help of other countries and organizations.
Latter-day Saint missionaries assigned to Japan, are working alongside Japanese Latter-day Saints and those in the communities to help get life back to normal. KSL-TV recently aired a story on how the missionaries are contributing to that goal.
