Nearly 560 Mormon Helping Hands volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently assisted with flooding cleanup efforts in Louisiana and Mississippi. They provided 6,421 hours of service.

An estimated 10,950 homes have been damaged by the flooding following record-breaking rain in mid-March in the southeastern United States. Mormon congregations in New Orleans, Monroe, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs and Alexandria, Louisiana, as well as Hattiesburg, Jackson and Gulfport, Mississippi, were involved in the cleanup efforts.
The Church shipped 2,815 cleaning kits, 2,420 hygiene kits, 2,860 food boxes and 45 cases of bottled water to the affected areas.
