Mormon Tabernacle Choir Salutes Armed Forces

A Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert recorded last Saturday will be aired in December on the Armed Forces Network.

The choir was joined by Christian music vocalist Sandi Patty in a concert to salute the U.S. Armed Forces. The Orchestra at Temple Square and the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve accompanied the choir, with Tennessee broadcasters Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase hosting the show.

Feed the Children, a nonprofit relief organization that meets the immediate food needs of hungry children and families around the world, will air the concert in November and December 2006 to help raise money for their food programs.

In addition to the music, a tribute was made to the 31 Utah servicemen who have lost their lives in Iraq.

The concert, which featured patriotic and holiday music, was recorded in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
