In Your Own Words is a regular sampling of online articles, blog posts and social media that represent some of the current conversations about Mormonism. The posts in this series do not necessarily represent the views of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, nor are they meant to be a comprehensive summary of the online conversations about the Church. The intent is to highlight social media content from individuals that will help journalists and the public better understand Mormonism.
Elder Christofferson Speaks to Young Adults
Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke to the young adults of the Church on Sunday, 14 September. He encouraged them to find happiness through living a Christ-centered life. Many social media users commented online about their favorite parts of Elder Christofferson's address:
while you live, let your life be an offering to God~Elder Chistofferson #CESDevo

as we lose ourselves in service, we become more substantive, and it actually becomes easier to find ourselves - #CESDevo

Keeping small, everyday promises prepares to keep your promises when everything is on the line. -Elder Christofferson #CESDevo

Others responded on Twitter to the question by the @LDSchurch account, "How did the message given by #ElderChristofferson inspire you?"
@LDSchurch I thought of several ways I could rearrange my priorities. I also thought a lot about those I home teach.

And some were lucky enough to shake hands with Elder Christofferson after the devotional:

Expressions of God's Love
At the heart of the Mormon faith is the belief that we are literal sons and daughters of God. The belief that God hears and answers prayers has many talking about how they feel God's love in their lives.

Many people have shared their feelings that one of the greatest expressions of God's love for His children is that H sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Savior of the world.

Belief in the Eternal Nature of Families
Mormons believe that families can be together eternally. These sister missionaries shared their feelings about the importance of families even though they are temporarily far apart from theirs.

#SeminaryWeek on Social Media
Seminary is a worldwide, religious educational program for youth ages 14 through 18. Most seminary classes meet early in the morning before regular school begins. Last week, seminary teachers and students used the hashtags #SeminaryWeek and #LDSSeminary to share some of the highlights of the seminary experience.
"I take seminary because I love learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ. #whyitakesem #SeminaryWeek #herrimansem" @kaylieking23

Gospel Study as Part of a Lifelong Education
A lifetime of learning of both the secular and the spiritual is an important part of Mormon life. These two posts show what some members enjoy about studying the scriptures:
