United Kingdom: Community Park Is Rejuvenated by Mormon Helping Hands

UK Sydney Park

Sidney Park in the community of Grimsby, an eastern seaport in the UK, was given new life this summer as Latter-day Saints worked for two Saturdays. Benches were wire-brushed and painted, litter was picked up, picnic tables were wire-brushed and painted, gardens were hoed and planted and a beautiful old bridge that spans the large pond in the park was repainted.

UK Sydney Helping Hands

The park was scheduled for demolition, but local residents worked to save Sidney Park, and Mormon Helping Hands joined in the preservation campaign. Local media covered the service rendered by the Latter-day Saints and remarked how inspiring it was to see so many people working together.

The United United Kingdom Mormon Newsroom website has photos and more information about what was accomplished.
