Australia: Prosthetic Hands Created by Several Faiths
More than 150 young adults from several Christian and other faiths worked together assembling prosthetic hands for overseas victims of landmines. The humanitarian project was funded and organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which received the prosthetics kits through the Helping Hands program.
Latter-day Saint Russell Willoughby said, “We experienced something unique: creating the hands, creating new friendships and breaking down barriers that happen sometimes over belief differences. It really was a great opportunity to unite with people from other faiths who share similar values.”

Brazil: 2,000 Wheelchairs Donated
Thousands of Brazilians were the recipients of wheelchairs through a donation from the Church’s Humanitarian Services.
Wheelchair distribution was carried out with the support and partnership of various institutions including the Federal District Health Department, which provided the list of those in need.

United Kingdom: Britain’s Latter-day Saints Respond to Church Call to Help Refugees
Earlier this year leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encouraged its more than 15 million global members to help refugees who had been relocated from many troubled areas of the world to other locations.
In Liverpool, working in collaboration with MerseyAid, a charity that is dedicated to helping refugees around the world, an event was organized to prepare hygiene kits for women in the Syrian refugee camps.

Italy: Church Donates Field Kitchen to Italian Red Cross
Through donations by Mormons each month in what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints calls fast day, enough money was collected to purchase a mobile kitchen for the Red Cross of Rome. Fast day usually includes abstaining from food and drink for two meals and donating the equivalent of the meals to the Church to help those in need.
The kitchen is capable of preparing 900 meals per day and will be used to feed refugees and help during emergencies.

Canada: Mormons and Muslims Break Food Fast Together in Montreal
Latter-day Saints and Muslims met in a Mormon meetinghouse in Montreal recently to break their fast. For Muslims, it was iftar, the evening meal when Muslims break their daily Ramadan fast. For Mormons, the first Sunday of the month is a fast day from food and drink.
A year ago, Latter-day Saints were invited by the Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) of Montreal to celebrate Ramadan. Both groups engaged in dialogue to share their experiences and they decided to repeat the event again.

Pacific: Mormon Helping Hands Volunteers Assemble Hygiene Kits for the Needy
Auckland, New Zealand, Mormons were hard at work assembling hygiene supplies for homeless men, women and children in the early morning hours of July 23, 2016.
The Church joined forces with Te Puea Memorial Marae earlier this year to help the increasing homeless population. Hygiene kits were packed with a towel, wash-cloth, shampoo, soap, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes and toothpaste and specific items to take care of the personal needs of men, women and children.

USA, Missouri: Mormon Family Night With MLB Champions Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals, Major League Baseball’s reigning champions, hosted Mormon Family Night recently at Kauffman Stadium in a game with the Los Angeles Angels.
