Pacific, Vanuatu: Education and Service Help Prepare for the Future
Young adult Latter-day Saints in Vanuatu are preparing for potential natural disasters by assembling items that people will need when their normal lifestyles are interrupted. Residents in the area have experienced severe weather in the past with Cyclone Pam in early 2015 as well as flooding during other years.
The young Mormons attended a three-day conference titled “A Sure Foundation” and were taught to base their lives on the teachings of Jesus Christ in order to be able to withstand the challenges and adversities of life.

Cambodia: School Students Blessed With Bicycles
Students in two schools in the Tbong Khmum Province of Cambodia each received one of 500 bicycles from LDS Charities, the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The day of the bike delivery was no ordinary day. In addition to receiving the bikes, two high government officials paid a visit to celebrate the arrival of the students’ new mode of transportation.

El Salvador: Mormons Donate Food to Rosales National Hospital
Mormon Helping Hands volunteers recently donated food to the Social Work Unit of the Nephrology area in the Rosales National Hospital in conjunction with the Association of Patients with Renal Insufficiency in El Salvador (APIRES).
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints try each day to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by giving of their time and talents to help others.

Pacific, New Zealand: Over a Million Historical Records Preserved
More than 1.3 million images of historical records from the city of Dunedin, on New Zealand’s southeast coast, have been preserved by Archives New Zealand and FamilySearch International.
The collaboration between Archives New Zealand and FamilySearch International is similar to those the Church has around the world. FamilySearch International provides labor and equipment and hosts the digitized records; Archives New Zealand ensures its valuable records are permanently preserved.

Canada: Mormon Athletes Raise the Bar
Latter-day Saint athletes of various abilities are pursuing and achieving excellence in many areas of their lives.

Brazil: Community Leaders Honored for Upholding Family Values
More than a thousand community leaders and organizations in Brazil recently received The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Family Values award.
The awards were handed out in several communities celebrating the actions, projects and people credited with the many successes in service to others and values important to families.

Australia: An Interfaith Christmas Celebration
Latter-day Saints invited Australia’s Campbelltown community to celebrate an early Christmas with activities for the family as well as helping those in need.
More than 500 visitors enjoyed the day viewing the beautifully decorated church rooms and the dozens of nativity displays, including a live nativity. Latter-day Saints also provided a program of Christmas music.
