"Music and the Spoken Word" Ticketed During Olympics

SALT LAKE CITY - Demand to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during the Olympics is expected to be so great, admittance to "Music and the Spoken Word" will be by ticket only.

Ticket only performances are on 10, 17, 24 February and 10 March. The tickets will be valid for both "Music and the Spoken Word" and the following encore concert. Encore concerts will feature the guest artist from the previous night's Cultural Olympiad performance, also in the Tabernacle with the choir.

Encore concert performers include opera star Frederica von Stade, composer/conductor John Williams, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, clarinetist Richard Stoltzman, renowned six-man a cappella ensemble king'singers, and esteemed percussionist Evelyn Glennie.

Tickets will be released to the public at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 22 January. Tickets are free but are only available by coming in person to the Conference Center ticket office (door 4) and at www.events.lds.org. There is a 4 per-person limit to one show only.
