New Easter Initiative Encourages People to #HearHim

Tabernacle Choir to stream Handel’s ‘Messiah’

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting people to follow Jesus Christ and #HearHim during the Easter season. The weeklong initiative runs through the Holy Week, which ends on Easter Sunday.

“Our efforts to hear Him need to be ever more intentional,” said President Russell M. Nelson during his general conference talk on Sunday morning. “It takes conscious and consistent effort to fill our daily lives with His words, His teachings, His truths.”

President Nelson continued, “We simply cannot rely upon information we bump into on social media with billions of words online and in a marketing saturated world constantly infiltrated by noisy nefarious efforts of the adversary.”

A short video was posted Monday morning on ComeUntoChrist.org and Church of Jesus Christ social media channels, including YouTube.

The video is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Sign up for daily text messages or emails during Holy Week at ComeUntoChrist.org. Participants will receive notifications containing inspiring ways to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus’s followers welcomed Him into Jerusalem with joy and praise,” said Palm Sunday’s prompt. “#HearHim by inviting Jesus into your life, just as His disciples did thousands of years ago.” The message includes a link to a Bible video highlighting the last week of the Savior’s life.

In addition, new study plans and other resources focusing on the Atonement and Resurrection of the Savior are available on the Gospel Library app.

After the concert has been streamed on Friday, April 10, it will be available on-demand at approximately 11:00 p.m. MDT from the choir’s website and YouTube channel.
