Have you thought about serving a mission? Or do you know someone who wants to serve?
The Savior taught, “If ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work” (see Doctrine and Covenants 4:3).
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has created a new landing page for youth and adults interested in serving missions. Parents and leaders are also invited to visit the website.
The Serve a Mission landing page will help individuals learn about what types of missionary service the Church offers, find answers to questions and start the process of preparing for a mission. If you are a parent or leader, the information can help you better support prospective missionaries.
Quick access to the Online Recommendation System, Dress and Appearance, Preach My Gospel, Missionary Portal, Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ, and the Gospel Library are also available from this website.
President Russell M. Nelson said, “I reaffirm strongly that the Lord has asked every worthy, able young man to prepare for and serve a mission. For Latter-day Saint young men, missionary service is a priesthood responsibility. …
“For you young and able sisters, a mission is also a powerful, but optional, opportunity. We love sister missionaries and welcome them wholeheartedly. What you contribute to this work is magnificent! Pray to know if the Lord would have you serve a mission, and the Holy Ghost will respond to your heart and mind.
“Dear young friends, you are each vital to the Lord. He has held you in reserve until now to help gather Israel. Your decision to serve a mission, whether a proselyting or a service mission, will bless you and many others. We also welcome senior couples to serve when their circumstances permit. Their efforts are simply irreplaceable,” (see “Preaching the Gospel of Peace,” April 2022 general conference).
