    Plans to construct the temple were announced 11 June 1999, Church leaders broke ground 20 November 1999, and Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 to 2008, dedicated the Perth Australia Temple 20 May 2001. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Perth.

      The 10,700-square-foot temple’s exterior is Olympic white granite.
