President Dieter F. Uchtdorf Visits Childhood Home in Czech Republic

President Dieter F.  Uchtdorf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ First Presidency and his wife, Harriet, recently visited President Uchtdorf’s childhood home in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

“I am glad that even though we left and had to experience the sadness of war, I still have great memories of those first four years of my life in the Czech Republic,” said President Uchtdorf. “I feel very much at home here, coming back to the place of my birth.”

On May 15, 2016, President Uchtdorf organized the first stake (a collection of local congregations) in that Eastern European country.
