Registration Now Open for RootsTech and Family Discovery Day 2025

Registration for RootsTech 2025 is now open. The premier global family discovery is March 6–8, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and online at RootsTech.org.

RootsTech is hosted annually by FamilySearch, an international genealogy organization and popular website sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

RootsTech 2025 will offer a mix of in-person and virtual classes, interactive activities, and entertainment designed to inspire and educate family history enthusiasts of all levels. Whether an individual is a seasoned genealogist or just beginning their family discovery journey, RootsTech 2025 offers something for everyone. Select content will be available in multiple languages.

For Latter-day Saints, RootsTech offers fun ways to help families grow their love for Jesus Christ and the temple through inspiring messages from Church leaders. Participants can also learn helpful tips for using tools like Ordinance Ready found in the Member Tools and Family Tree apps to quickly and easily find ancestral names for the temple.

RootsTech provides an opportunity to connect with old friends, make new ones and expand social networks. RootsTech 2024 attendees made more than 350 million new family connections.

Highlights of RootsTech 2025

  • Hundreds of Classes: Choose from a wide variety of online and in-person classes and workshops led by industry experts, covering topics for beginners to advanced research techniques.
  • Expo Hall: Explore the latest innovations and products.
  • Inspiring Main Stage Sessions: Enjoy presentations from celebrities, influencers and experts who will share their personal family stories and insights.
  • Family Discovery Day: This free live event on Saturday, March 8, designed specifically for Latter-day Saints, is filled with fun activities, games and discovery ideas for the entire family. The keynote and other select sessions will be streamed live online and available to view on demand.

Registration Details

  • In-Person Conference: Early bird registration is available for just $99 and will increase to $129 on November 1, 2024. The first 1,000 registrants will receive a limited-edition RootsTech pin.
  • Online Conference: Receive free access to all virtual sessions and events on RootsTech.org.
