Evangelical Scholar Chides 'Book of Mormon' Musical

At the "On Faith" blog last week a discussion ensued about "The Book of Mormon" musical and whether "faith is funny."

Among the contributors was John Mark Reynolds, a professor of philosophy at Biola University, who wrote a pointed piece on "The Book of Mormon" musical. "We may laugh, but our grandchildren will shudder," Reynolds said.

In February the Church issued the following statement regarding the play:

The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ.
